Carey is a former fashion model. She is 5'10" tall and was very sought-after by the famous American designers such as Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and others. Her father is an accomplished geologist, who was awarded Scientist Of The Year 1979, at the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey traveled all over in honor of her father's efforts. While she was at the University of Colorado at part-time when she was discovered to be the target of the Ford model Agency representative in New York. She briefly lived and studied in Paris after which she returned to New York. Her modeling and college career took off and she was featured on Glamour's, Vogue's and many other magazine covers. In between her modeling assignments she was a full time student, completing a master's degree in literary studies at New York University. When she arrived in New York she began to study acting. In 1986, she made her debut as an actor with a small role as a minor character in "Club Paradise" alongside Robin Williams. In her spare time she likes to ski or windsurfing. She also enjoys climbing mountains as well as whitewater kayaking.
